Four Winds is an outreach ministry of Southland Community Church into
the community. Ultimately there are 4 goals for this project: (1) to
help people with ADDICTIONS to overcome their addictions; (2) to offer
food & clothing to people living in POVERTY; (3) to minister to the
FAMILIES of those living with addictions; (4) to minister to those in
PRISON and to their families.
To start the primary focus of 4 Winds will be on goal #1 –
ministering to addicts (80% of all crime in our area has something to
do with drugs) in Steinbach and area. The reason for this is that drugs
are one key root problem contributing to poverty, broken families and
crime in our area.
The Four Winds ministry to addicts has already been running with
great success for a couple of years, with Stefan and his team
ministering to addicts on a volunteer basis through cell groups. Though
they have had a huge impact on a number of former addicts, the drug
problem in the area is far too big to be properly addressed by a couple
of cell groups.
