Find out practical ways to build a stronger Godly family. This seminar is geared towards parents of children from grade 4-10 – but ALL are welcome (any parent will benefit greatly from this material).

Healing Seminar
Taught by Tim Ryan
Tuesday Nights 7-8:30pm
This seminar is designed to two groups of people:
a) For the caregivers to those who are experiencing
sickness and suffering
b) For those in the midst of their own sickness and suffering
We will explore the mystery of healing in the midst of a world that experiences much pain, sickness, suffering and death. What does the Bible have to say about healing? Why are some healed and other not? How do I follow and trust God in the middle of my journey? How do I pursue healing?
We will cover the following topics:
a) What does Southland believe about Healing?
b) How do I pray for Healing? Physical, Mental and Emotional?
c) Why isn’t everyone healed? Why do some die?
d) Are there spiritual causes to sickness?
e) How do I minister to those who are sick & suffering? How do I answer their
questions of Healing?
This course is important because we are all affected by pain, sickness, and
suffering either personally or with someone close to us.
Drawing Near to God
Taught by Ray Yoder & Dana Loewen
Wednesday Nights 6:30-8pm
Our primary identity and purpose in life is to exist in close relationship with God. All other actions in our life are intended to flow out of this relationship. Often, however, we live our faith out of religious duty, rather than delight in God. There are many wrong thoughts we hold about who God is, how he approaches us, and who we are that further cement these beliefs. In “Drawing Near to God” we will explore the Scriptures to learn the truth about how to walk in a close, enjoyable relationship with Jesus.
This course will include elements of live worship, teaching, listening in prayer, and praying in groups.
Sex & Dating

The opposite sex can “drive you crazy”. Find out what the Bible says about. . . what does godly dating look like; choosing the right date/mate; physical boundaries; how to re-start after poor attempts; and what you NEED to know about the opposite sex.
Foster & Adoptive Parents
Taught by Maryann Lepp
Tuesday Nights 7-8:30pm
This course has been specifically developed to help Foster and Adoptive parents discover His heart for the children in their home, how to know themselves, how to respond to challenging behavior, how to make wise choices and decisions. There will also be a session on how to pray effectively for their children!
The End Times
Taught by Kris Duerksen
Tuesday Nights 7-8:30pm
“The End Times are one of the most important topics in the entire Bible; there are twice as many chapters in the Bible about Jesus’ Second Coming as there are about His First Coming – and yet, most Christians know almost nothing about His Return! This course will not cover the same material as the End Times message series did last year – it will build off of that series, taking participants deeper and further into End Time Scriptures and exploring some important and fascinating topics we did not have a chance to cover in the message series last year. Some topics which will be covered include: The Sign of Jesus’ return, characteristics of the Antichrist and the role of Islam in the End Times. Participants need not have heard last year’s End Times message series in order to understand this course, but it would be helpful.”

Why This Topic of Money is Important?
Just about everyone today laments the lack of basic education about personal money management and the increasing materialism in our culture. Most of us are deeply concerned about the resultant problems of consumer debt, marital conflict over money, and the shame and embarrassment that many feel over poor financial decisions they have made. And, of course, when personal finances are in disarray it seems impossible to be a generous giver. What is less understood, even among church leaders, is the spiritual impact of how we handle and relate to our money. We really can’t serve God and money (Matt. 6:21) and for many people money has become their idol; the chief rival god in their lives. There is a huge relationship between how we relate to money and how we relate to God.
This course is about a whole lot more than money! Is is about a person’s relationship to God. It has to do with matters of eternal significance! Together we will be removing money as a rival god that professes to be all powerful (the “almighty dollar”) and to provide ultimate security (“If I just had enough money I’d be secure”). The course goal is to replace the false god of money with the omnipotent true God who offers the only real and lasting security and peace.
