What is an Encounter?

An Encounter God Retreat is a weekend set aside to meet with Jesus.  At this retreat we focus on learning how to deal with the hurts, hang-ups and struggles that we all face on a daily basis.  Jesus said, "If you hold to my teaching, then you really are my disciples and you will know the truth and the truth will set you free" (John 8:31-32 NIV).

What is the schdule of the Encounter?

Check-in and registration is on Friday between 6:00 - 6:30pm followed by supper at 6:30pm. The Encounter runs until Sunday lunch.

What is the cost of the Encounter?

The cost of the weekend is $149 (incl. taxes) per person, based on double occupancy. If Southland is not your church home, the cost is $199. This includes two nights, six hot meals & snacks as well as retreat materials. Bedding and linens are provided by the retreat center. A $50 deposit is due when you register.

Who can go to an Encounter?

Anyone 16 years and older, whenever you are in your walk, we encourage you to attend! Those under 18 need a parent to fill out and sign a permission form available at the information Centre.

What do I need to bring?

You will need to bring your Bible, a notebook, a pen, and any personal items and toiletries. Bring casual comfortable clothing and shoes. Also, you may want to bring along your favorite game to play during breaks. Above all, bring a heart that is willing to be ministered to by the Lord Himself!

What do I do next if I want to go?

Sign-up by completing an Encounter God Registration form. They can be picked up at the Information Centre or click here to sign up online!!

This four week seminar, is offered immediately after the Encounter God weekend. It's purpose is to equip believers on how to consistently and victoriously walk with God. This seminar is strongly encouraged as it is a vitally important follow through to the actual Encounter weekend. Spiritual highs are awesome, but it is steadiness that wins the race.
