It has been said that Southland is a larger church with a friendly, small-town atmosphere.  That just about sums it up! When you arrive at one of our 4 services (Saturday at 5 and 7pm or Sunday at 9 and 11 am) you will be welcomed by one of our friendly greeters.  The Information Center is located in the main lobby and there you can pick up a Welcome Package with lots of helpful information just for you, and some coupons to the Southland PERK! You will then make your way to our 750-seat auditorium where you will be helped to your seat by another friendly volunteer. There is lots more to tell you so here are some answers to some commonly asked questions:

What is the service like?

We believe that our time with God should be a joyful experience and should be culturally current in style and spiritually relevant in substance.  The service style is contemporary with elements that include worship songs, dance, multi-media, a worship choir followed by a Scripture-based message that is told in a creative yet straight-forward way.

Do I have to give an offering during the service?

No absolutely not. Our regular attendees and members give regularly.  If you are just visiting, just let the offering basket pass by when it comes around.

It seems like a big place.  Is there a map that I can check out?

Sure…just click here for a map of the building.

Coffee?

Just to the left, when you enter through the main doors, you will find the Southland PERK, a warm and inviting place that helps create and build community.  You will be served by smiling volunteers ready to help you connect with others over a good cup of coffee and a piece of cake. On Saturdays come early for a bowl of homemade soup!

What should I wear to church?

When you arrive at Southland, you will notice that people wear whatever they are most comfortable wearing.  We are more interested in you feeling connected and finding a place to meet your spiritual needs then we are interested in what you wear.  We are a “down home” casual church so wear what you like and you will fit right in at Southland.

What about my kids?

During all 4 of the adult services, children birth through grade 4 are involved in KIDzLAND where they enjoy learning about God through active praise and worship and lively presentations of the Bible.  The environment is both SAFE and FUN with a check-in/paging system for your convenience and peace of mind.

For your middle school aged children (grades 5 through 8) we have Supercell every Saturday night.  Grades 5-6 meet in the Chapel at 5pm and those in grades 7-8 meet at 7pm.  Supercell starts with awesome, upbeat worship and then breaks into cell groups.  If you are new to Southland, just come a bit early and we’ll make sure you get into a cell that’s just right for you!  We also have the PERK EXPRESS with tons of snacks for super cheap.
