What To Expect
What to Expect
You can expect a warm and friendly atmosphere at Southland. We are a large and growing church committed to helping individuals and families find a place to connect and grow within the church community. When you come through the doors you will find greeters and ushers available to help you find your way and direct you to a seat. If you have any questions, feel free to go to the Information Desk in the main lobby.
Service Times?
We have two service times: Sunday 9am and 11:15am. Both services are identical.
What is the service like?
During the service you can expect to be led in a time of God-focused worship with a contemporary flair through various songs, prayer and passionate leadership. Worship is followed by a thought-provoking, Scripture-based message taught by one of our pastors.
Do I have to give an offering during the service?
No, absolutely not. Feel free to let the offering basket pass by you when it comes around.
Food & Drink
The Connection Cafe is our food and drink shop where you’ll find coffee and a variety of other drinks, sweets and snacks. You are welcome to bring your drinks into the auditorium for the service.
Books etc.
Books etc. is the Southland bookstore where you will find a number of different Christian life books, novels, DVDs, music, greeting cards etc. You can also purchase a variety of past Southland message series that you might be interested in.
Southland Library
Our library houses a number of free resources that are great to challenge and grow your faith. It’s open after each of the weekend services and has many books and DVDs that appeal to all ages. Look for signs to direct you to our temporary location..
What should I wear to church?
People generally wear whatever they feel most comfortable in. Some wear jeans, others dress up, so it is entirely up to you! We are most interested in helping people connect into the church community, so feel free to wear what you like.
What about my kids?
We have a great children’s ministry for kids 0 to grade 4 that runs during each of our four services. Here you can expect your kids to enjoy learning about God through fun and lively teaching, singing and activities. Our check-in and paging systems provide peace of mind for parents while they attend the adult services. If you are new to Southland, come by a bit early and register your child at the Kidzland Information Desk.
Supercell is our grade 5 & 6 program which runs during the 9:00am service on Sundays. Here students experience lively worship, teaching and small group interaction. If you’re new to Southland, come a bit early and we’ll ensure that your child connects into a small group that is perfect for them. Look for signs pointing you to the Supercell room.

We currently translate messages into Korean, Low German, High German, Spanish and Russian. You can pick up the listening equipment from the Information Desk located in the main lobby. Click here for translated service times. The sign language section is found in the front right of the auditorium.
